Even if you’re not planning on a big rebrand right now or have no plans to update your logo any time soon, it’s always a good idea to keep one ear to the ground where graphic design trends are concerned, as it allows you to see what’s proving popular, what your competition are up to and what consumers are responding to in particular… knowledge that could certainly help your business grow, expand and flourish in the future.
With this in mind, you might want to check out the latest LogoLounge Trend Report, which has done all the hard work for you!
This is, in fact, the 20th report of its kind so you know the LogoLounge guys have their finger on the pulse and you’re sure to be able to find some interesting takeaways to be inspired by and apply to your own brand over the coming months.
In terms of identified trends for 2022, it seems that there’s a big shift being made away from corporate aesthetics, with organisations now very much putting the emphasis on a more artisanal and handcrafted look and feel.
Additionally, biofriendliness and eco-sensitivity are still very much at the heart of design right now, coupled with more restrained colour use and an intriguing combination of an Art Nouveau blend of the 1910s, 1960s and the 2020s.
Speaking of colour, brand representation is now turning to a range of different colours, all taken from a complementary palette, rather than solely relying on primary colour applications for a single logo.
Writing on the company blog, Bill Gardner - LogoLounge founder and president - said: “For the 2022 report, we saw much consideration of wordmarks and typography playing a more important role - all recognising the need to build some ownership of visual memorability into an otherwise anonymous solution.”
So there you have it! If you are considering a new logo or you just want to see what’s up in the wonderful world of design, have a perusal of the report and see what ideas you can find!
